Analyst, Investor Relations

Location: Natick, MA

SUMMARY:

This candidate must have a passion for learning and communicating about science, technology and innovation to drive successful investment and growth opportunities. A candidate with a client-facing Wall Street, capital markets or corporate in-house investor relations or finance background is a strong plus.

The Analyst will be a key client-facing member of the Investor Relations practice, managing multiple workstreams and deliverables across both private and public IR accounts. This position reports to the Managing Director of MacDougall’s investor relations practice.

Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the planning and preparation of the quarterly earnings process and drive project management timelines
    • Prepare and maintain corporate presentations and other investor facing materials
    • Review sellside analyst models and maintain consensus analysis
    • Analyze quarterly shareholder reports and prepare summaries
    • Review and update investor target lists and make recommendations
    • Identify peers and competitors and establish key benchmarks
    • Follow competitor news/events and prepare summaries
    • Prepare quarterly board reports on investor relations activities
    • Manage logistics and preparation for investor meetings and conference presentations, including briefing materials
    • Conduct investor outreach and manage meeting logistics
    • Manage and maintain IR calendars and track other key events
    • Maintain and make content recommendations for client website

Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree; major and/or post-graduate studies in a scientific-related discipline are a plus

    • Five or more years of overall financial, consulting, investor relations or investment banking experience

    • Understanding of the drug development process and critical milestones

    • Wall Street/capital markets fluency and existing relationships with life science investment community

    • An executive presence in client-facing engagements and personality

    • An entrepreneur who takes ownership of the work to be done and exhibits strong work ethic

    • Extremely organized, detail-oriented team player

    • Highly effective communicator with excellent listening, verbal and written skills

    • Die-hard dedication to consistency and credibility while maintaining flexibility in a professional consulting services environment
