Managing Director

Lauren Arnold is a Managing Director at MacDougall, specializing in the hands-on development and implementation of results-oriented communications programs. With more than 20 years of experience in communications and PR, Lauren provides clients with strategic counsel and media relations expertise to help them meet their business goals. Lauren has taken numerous companies out of stealth mode, including naming, branding, positioning, content and website development, media training and execution, which has resulted in on-message media coverage in key publications. Lauren plays a key role in training and managing employees and leads the agency’s Meet the Journalists program where she brings in journalists to speak with employees about their backgrounds and best practices in working together. In addition to planning and executing on key milestones such as financing and data readouts, Lauren understands the importance of storytelling and leads proactive media strategy and thought leadership campaigns in order to secure mindshare in between news announcements. Prior to joining MacDougall, Lauren worked at local PR agencies where she guided clients through product launches, consumer awareness campaigns and scientific regulatory approvals. Lauren graduated from Colby College, cum laude, with a degree in English.
5 things you always wanted to know about Lauren:
My first car was a…
blue Volkswagon Jetta without power windows or locks. While I loved the car, it was so low to the ground that the bumper would fall off every time I pulled into a parking spot close to the curb.
Back in the day I was…
an ice cream scooper, a waitress and a marketer for parking garage companies in Boston. When your office is in a parking garage, you really appreciate being above ground!
I’ve read almost everything written by…
John Irving, Margaret Atwood and Michael Connolly. A Prayer for Owen Meany may be the best book ever.
If I get stuck on an island, it better be…
Martha’s Vineyard in the summer, with lobster rolls, iced coffee and ice cream.
Sometimes at work I get caught checking…
for pictures of my boys on their school’s twitter feeds.
